Two pet peeves
1. People who don’t understand that “voila” is a French word spelled “voila” and instead spell it “wah la.”
2. Folks with bad colds who complain about having the flu. Are you unable to get out of bed? Have you not been running a high fever for days? DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE SOMETHING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED OF OVER THE COURSE OF HISTORY? No? In that case, you do not have influenza. You have a cold.
2 (a). The “stomach flu” does not exist. It is a misnomer. The viruses that cause influenza do not affect the stomach.
